This site will perform two functions for our members:
- We will maintain current information of use to our members, and
- We will try to deliver accurate information to non-members who wish to know more about our local.
To this end, we are implementing a number of web policies to better serve this community.
- We recognise that many are not gifted with the latest technology, nor can they afford to upgrade. The site complies with the XHTML 1.0 Standard to improve response. The minimum resolution required for proper viewing in 800 X 600.
- We also recognise that many readers require corrective eyewear, and have set up their browser defaults for easy reading. The pages we serve will not overide these defaults by specifying font faces or colors that your browser may not support, or that you may have difficulty reading.
- In the current web environment, email addresses are collected from web sites to provide destinations for spam email. Any email addresses we published will be obfuscated to make it more difficult for spammers to collect the addresses.
- By the same token, we will not publish home addresses, phone numbers etc, unless we receive instructions to do so, in writing, from the individual concerned.
We take the issue of your privacy seriously!
Your personal information is used only for its intended purpose. eg, if you email us, the email address is only used to reply to you. We will never use that information for any other purpose!
We are compliant with the provisions of BILL C-6, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. , This is an Act to protect personal information that is collected, used or disclosed in certain circumstances, by providing for the use of electronic means to communicate or record information or transactions. By amending the Canada Evidence Act, the Statutory Instruments Act and the Statute Revision Act. Canada has joined the European community in legislating privacy issues to protect the public.
